The Bulging Eye (Makapu'u Tide Pools, Hawaii)
August 31, 2014
Makapu'u means the Bulging Eye in Hawaiian. On our second to last day in Hawaii, Lizzy's brother, Paul who has been living there for the past 5 years, took us to the Bulging Eye's tide pools. You have to hike up a pave path and then down a very steep and rocky path. If you know Lizzy, then you know that she doesn't like going down steep paths. She's one of the few people that I know that would rather walk uphill than downhill. But she made it down, legs shaking and all. So if you ever see her or talk to her, make sure to tell her that you are proud of her making it down to the Makapu'u Tide Pools.
When we made it down, I was attracted to this blowhole. This other visitor was attracted to it too, until he realized he was too close to it and got wet.
