on March 19, 2014Jay, thank you for taking the time to look at my photos this week and last.
During my conceptualization, I looked at a lot of film noir photography, knowing that the photographers used a lot of creative lighting techniques. Coupled with your talk, especially with the demo of Laura being lit with an uplight, I decided to go towards the frightful route using a famous shadow.
Thank you for your critique. It is very humbling to know that I am doing creative and correct things in my photographs. I hope to learn more from you in the future.

on March 18, 2014Absolutely incredible!!!!
Great concept, (and I am big on thinking before shooting), great movie by the way, (I had a class at Art Center dealing with art direction in film, and this was the first movie we studied), but more importantly PERFECTLY APPROPRIATE LIGHT.
The direction emphasizes the texture and impeccably creates that highlight on the hood surrounding Lizzy. The low angle and contrast of the light add to the drama which is cemented by the expression.
Very creative, very inventive by using the projected image, and one of the very very few images that I ever rate with five stars.
