"Have you ever asked for God's angels to save you?"
Bill was in court and Bill prayed for God's angels to save him from a harsh sentence. Then an earthquake happened to the point where people were seeking cover under the tables. After the dust cleared the judge gave Bill a much lesser sentence than what was expected.
I met Bill while he was packing his things just before he was going to seek shelter for the night. It rained the night before and it was very uncomfortable for him living in the streets. He told me of his vision of rebuilding the city so that everyone would have a place to live in. He used to put cutouts of hearts on the trees, but they would be taken down the next day.
After I asked if I could take his photo, he took out, what looked like a piece of a plastic pipe with drilled holes, attached a front and bottom piece, and played his makeshift flute toward the sunset. He was very good it, and he played like I wasn't there. He played like it was just him playing the soundtrack for the fleeting sky.
