Zombie Fashion Show
October 12, 2014
How fitting. On the day before the season premiere of The Walking Dead, there is a "Zombie Fashion Show" in DTLA. This is where makeup artists team up with models to make the scariest looking zombie ladies to walk down a catwalk. So Walter, Melissa, Jose, Dana, Lizzy, and I decide to go check it out. I really didn't know what to expect, but It was quite an experience: From tricked out hearses, DJ, art on the walls, artists making art to be hung on the walls, and pancakes. But the real show was the makeup artists showing off their skills making fiendish creatures out of their models and the models really living up to, ahem, unliving into their characters.
Warning, there are some gruesome images. I can't say that I'm into horror, gore, or macabre. I can't even look when the doctor is taking blood out of me! Blood really isn't my thing. I hate bloody noses. Not because I have to pinch my nose and hold my head back or whatever the current technique is to stop a bloody nose. I hate having to clean up all of potential blood on the floor or on my shirt. Yuck.
However, I can appreciate the processes that the makeup artists went through to make their imaginations into something those in attendance could interact with.
