Comikaze 2015
November 1, 2015
Yesterday, I attended my first comic book convention, Stan Lee's Comikaze 2015 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. I really didn't know what to expect being it my first convention, let alone on Halloween. I thought I was pretty nerdy; I enjoy the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, I've read my fare share of comic books (I even have some comic books on order from Amazon), I was visibly and audibly angry at last week's Walking Dead episode (spoiler alert) with the supposed death of Glen, and I pride myself at being pretty much unstoppable at Street Fighter II (I welcome all challengers, but just Street Fighter II and Turbo editions, nothing above), but I've never felt so uneducated in nerdom as I was yesterday. There were characters that I I've never seen before and references that I've never heard. Nevertheless, it was a fun experience to see fans so engaged in their fictional worlds. If I get the chance to go again or to the famed San Diego Comic Con I'd welcome the opportunity.
