Confusion/Absurdity
I decided to be brave and do two final projects for Digital Photography 1. My 2nd emotion that I had to convey was confusion. I typed in "confusion" into google images, which resulted in a bunch of silly faces popping up. All of them just looked too similar i.e. wide angle, shot looking down at the subject. So I wanted to step out of the box a bit. Not only did I want to convey confusion in my photograph, but I wanted the viewer to feel a little confused. I was inspired by a piece by Bansksy (the graffiti artist not our dog), which is the second photo. My photo was created with a 20 second exposure. Christmas lights were looped in the inside of an umbrella. Lizzy started squatting at the start of the exposure and slowly stood up. As she was standing, I was turning the Christmas lights quickly on and off due to them being connected to a wall switch. Once she was in place, I ran and flashed her face to capture her emotion. With lots of trial and error, here is the final product.
